Molybdenum forms several different complexes with hydrogen peroxide in acid solutions.  This factor is used to advantage in the dissolution of Molybdenum from various solids.

The use of peroxygens has been investigated for the extraction of molybdenum from low grade molybdenite ores.  Excellent recoveries can be achieved, as for other sulphide minerals.
